CRITICAL URBAN THEORY
URBAN-NATURAL
RELATIONAL ONTOLOGY
My doctoral research approaches the Atlantic Forest as an urban project, pursuing a counternarrative of the forest’s urbanisation through sustained engagement with the memories and aspirations of a quilombola community in Rio de Janeiro. By attending to the community and foregrounding its territorial practices, the research seeks to communicate their relational understandings into dialogue with urban–environmental planning debates, advancing justice-oriented sustainability pathways.
